Lions Spring Sprint Report

Image
250 yard swim, 9.3 mile bike, 3.2 mile run. Why do the results people put the wrong mileage in the results? The bike portion was advertised at 9.3 but the results state 9 miles? Why do they do that? It's annoying! Despite the above today was a perfect day for the Lions Spring Sprint in Marlboro MA. Weather could not have been better. Unfortunately the opening act was a 250 yard swim. One swimmer at a time. We were instructed to swim up and back then under the buoy over to the next lane. Ok. I figured that would not be too hard and it wasn't except for the fact that I missed the wall and had very little UMPH. I was then passed by two women. I had gotten to talk to both of them in line and found them to be really nice. I only hope I didn't piss anyone off for being seeded a little too far up. I had to take on extra time to let them go by me. That sucked. The water was a bit warm and it (the swim) just kinda stank. I timed myself in and out. My honey came with me to cheer me o...

Problem Solver

I sat here tonight realizing that I just don't have the time in the week to blog as much as I want to. I thought about stopping altogether but that was not happening. As I sat here mulling it over this evening a few things became pretty clear to me. Whilst dwelling on my blogging dilemma I found myself sifting through my blog list that I have missed reading. In doing so I also found myself going immediately to the blogs of people that I have met in person and feel a stronger connection to. Then it hit me. You won't be stressed about not keeping up and not having time. So friends, I am cutting down the number of blogs that I follow to only the people I have met in person because I feel a stronger connection to these people. I wish I could follow even those out there I haven't met in person but I just can't. Not with my schedu...

No time to waste

It is time to either shit or get off the pot. I have always loved that saying. Probably because it's so raw in it's meaning and forthright in it's sound. I don't have a ton of time here. I'm 45 years young and I want the MOST out of life that I can possibly squeeze. I MUST take chances NOW if I want to remain competitive in sport. I'm willing to go the distance. To train like a mad woman whether it be biking, running, or swimming. The marathon, the IM, or sprints. It doesn't matter which I choose. The only thing that matters is that I get to push myself to the limits just to see what I'm capable of. There will be no "what ifs" in my retirement life. Only "remember whens". Instinctively and cautiously I am already considering what to do about over the next 5 years. The long list. There are things I want to do over the next few years and I'm gearing up to be ready. I'm following my hearts pull. The thing that I have a real achin...
