Boxed wine?

Ahhh, I didn't think so . I used to make fun of anyone who drank wine from a box, including my mother. How judgemental of me. I was recently sold on a box of Vin Rouge, From the Tank boxed wine. I was seriously sceptical, but, after a few nights of breathing, it makes a decent glass. One of the best attributes to the boxed wine is that the container collapses on itself and keeps out the air. Therefore it lasts for a whole month rather than 3 days! One more exciting news I'm thinking about running Boston AND doing the halfiron. I believe it's a tad aggressive but it excites me. I have this yearning to run the marathon again. Even Boston. I took this whole year off from marathons and I have definitely gotten in return, a renewed desire to go long. I just hope I'm not over doing it. I need to take it cautiously and wisely. It will be hard for sure. But I know it can be done. I know I may not PR in the marathon but I will be more prepared for the fall marathon th...

Race Report - Lowel Half Marathon PR 1:35:00!

This course is famous for being one of the best Boston qualifiers. It's a great course to plot your next PR. I have to admit, I was not at all looking forward to the scenery in Lowell. I did the full in 1998 (to qualify) and remember the course to be very boring. However, this time around the course was changed and I was pleasantly surprised at how far Lowell has come in the last 10 years. It seems to be a very nice town. It was very clean, wide streets, and the people at the race were absolutely fabulous. I would definately consider Lowell again in the future. We were cold in the AM. I remember going outside to warm up into the wide street and freezing for about a mile. You had to since it was only maybe 42 degrees but was going to be at least 10 degrees warmer later on. Plus, I believe, the less clothes you wear the more threatening you look to your competition and thus more chance of placing since they will have fallen victim and lost confidence in themselves..eheheheh. Think ab...

"Just" no more

Motivation comes in weird ways. Today I was told that using the word "just" in a sentence diminishes your thoughts and actions. I realized right away that I use this word way to much. Ahem.. "I am just going to go for it" OR "I'm am going to go for it". The phrase speaks for itself. It's a no brainier which one has more meaning. From now on I will not use that word. SO, for the Bay State Half that is this weekend, I am going to go for my PR! I'm psyched and can't wait!

Lots of Swimming

I'm starting to see a pattern of training that's finally starting to feel very comfortable. Lots of swimming Sunday and Monday. I swam 3.1 miles between the two days! That's a first. I still have to have my swimming analysis done. I could be doing it all wrong and thus wasting time. Well, even if I'm wasting my time it sure is adding muscle to my upper body. I'm happy about that because I have always had a weak upper body. The biking is easy right now. Not too much biking. I think my coach secretly feels bad for me because she knows how much I"m going to suffer on the trainer all winter long. I think she's going easy on me right now because of that reason. lol... The running is going Great! I ran really hard on Saturday with the help of a friend. My pace was about half marathon pace or a little faster. This pace was about all I could handle for 14 miles. Thanks Zac. I really would not want to do that workout by myself like Mary did. Poor Gal.. lol. So, in ...

Actually, I'm getting off the bike, not on the bike. This is a little difficult. Especially when people are watching. heheheheh. Notice the sleeping child on the bench right at the finish line. I hope we didn't bore him too much.
