James Joyce Ramble 10k

Freaky 80 degree weather for April was the tone of this race. I kept the demons at bay all morning long. They were saying things like "you are going to die out there", "you should not go for a PR today", "remember how you bonked in the heat at Chicago". I decided to stay out of the sunlight for as long as possible and show up at the race with just enough time to do my warm up and say high to my running club teammates at http://www.greaternorwoodrunningclub.org/ . That went well until they gave me crap for not wearing the club singlet. I was so preoccupied with slaying the demons and figuring out what to wear I completely forgot about the singlet. I'm pretty sure they have forgiven me. The day was not the perfect day for a PR but I still wanted to try for a PR since my running has been going so well. I wanted to break 42 minutes. I went out at a fast pace (6:35) and ended up not as fast.. It's a moderately hilly course with one huge hill right smack...

This weekend was packed full of activities. I had to find a dress for an outdoors wedding in MAY so I hustled over to the Natick mall and finally, after trying on at least 15 dresses found a black and pink maxi dress. So, I played aggressively taking careless chances and viola.. home early. Mission accomplished.. ...

I am happy we are prosperous and growing. I'm also happy that my training is on a roll. I have had several weeks of solid training. I may not see all the results I want to see but the training is there and should eventually pay off. Swimming gives me sneeze attacks. One day this week while driving on my way to work after a long swim I had a sneeze attack. I sneezed.. and BAM! it was so violent my nose hit the steering wheel causing the horn to blow. I nearly gave myself a bloody nose.. I couldn't stop laughing at myself for a few minutes after that. Imagine seeing someone do that? Sneeze, beep, laughter.. That same week another swimming episode occurred when I forgot all of my makeup and jewelry. OMG! I looked like crap because the swimming goggles put 10 years on your appearance for t...
